What to Bring to Mamagalie

Mamagalie is situated in a malaria free area with a subtropical climate. Bring clothing appropriate to the time of year, an insect repellent is recommended. Should you plan on hiking, ensure you bring a rucksack, water bottles and sun cream, along with the appropriate footwear. We do not encourage the use of our towels at the swimming pool area and request that you bring your own for this. Basic toiletries are provided; please bring any personal toiletries you may require. A hair drier is provided in the main bedroom.

Remember to bring enough food and drink suitable for the duration of your stay, if you forget anything there are 2 large grocery stores within a ten-minute drive of the lodge. A large fridge/freezer is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with a convection microwave oven, and 6-plate gas stove with large oven. A large assortment of pots and pans and utensils are provided. The braai is equipped with all the necessary pots and cooking utensils, please don't forget to bring charcoal or fire wood.

Gaslights are provided in the event of power failures, but you may find a torch handy in such circumstances.

A small library is in place, in it are books on the fauna and flora relating to the area, as well as a number of novels and magazines for the less intrepid. There are also a large variety of board games for both adults and children.
